How to make your CV

Read the guide & example →Add your contact details, a short profile, experience, education and relevant skills. Add custom sections with your own headings, using entry lists or simple text. Fold entries while editing, reorder sections, and leave empty ones out.
Browse the template gallery and choose A4 or US Letter. Adjust colours, font size, spacing and margins. In two-column designs, choose which column holds each section. Review every page before downloading.
Use the review checklist to check contact details and incomplete entries, then download your PDF for applications. Sign in to import or export draft JSON files.

CV Maker: useful answers
Is this CV Maker free, including the PDF download?
Free templates and PDF downloads are available without an account or watermark. Additional designs require Pro. Your exported CV belongs to you.
Can I edit my CV again later?
Yes. Continue your draft, or sign in to open a saved version in My CVs and import or export Handyfolio draft JSON files. The editor does not import PDFs or Word documents. Save a draft copy, then clear the current CV before importing a different one.
Are links clickable in the PDF?
Yes. Valid portfolio, LinkedIn, GitHub, email and phone fields become clickable links. Enter a web address for each profile; invalid addresses stay as plain text and appear in the review checklist.
Can I undo an edit or removal?
Use Undo and Redo, Ctrl or Command Z to undo, and Ctrl or Command Shift Z to redo. Typing is grouped into editing steps. History is kept only for the current visit; reloading or clearing the draft removes it.
Will this CV work with applicant tracking systems?
The PDF uses selectable text, standard section headings and embedded fonts. Choose a single-column layout such as Ledger or Brief for automated applications; visual two-column layouts can be read differently by different parsers. Hiring systems differ, so follow the employer’s requested format and check any parsed fields after uploading. We do not assign an ATS score or guarantee screening results.
Can I use another language or add a photo?
You can add an optional JPG, PNG or WebP portrait. The fonts cover Latin and Cyrillic text; unsupported characters are flagged before export. Right-to-left scripts are not supported yet.
