Understand the details behind your page.

The checker reads the HTML returned by a website and checks ten metadata and heading fields. Use the results to spot missing information, review your search preview, and prepare better social links.

These are editorial checks, not a ranking score or a complete SEO audit. Missing optional tags may be intentional. JavaScript isn’t executed, and actual search results can differ from the preview.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Meta Tag Checker: useful answers

What does this meta tag checker look for?

The checker reviews the page title, meta description, canonical link, robots meta tag, viewport, Open Graph title, description and image, Twitter card type, and primary heading. Each finding explains what to review.

Can I check Open Graph and social sharing tags?

Yes. The report checks for Open Graph title, description and image fields, plus the Twitter card type. It checks the returned HTML fields; it does not fetch social images or reproduce every social platform’s preview.

Why can a tag appear missing when I see it in my browser?

The checker reads server-returned HTML and does not execute JavaScript. A tag added only after JavaScript runs may be absent from the fetched response. Paste the HTML you want to inspect if needed.

Does passing all checks mean my page is fully optimized?

No. The report covers a focused set of metadata and heading checks. It does not measure rankings, page speed, backlinks, or indexing status, and some missing optional tags may be intentional.
