SERP PREVIEW / A PRACTICAL GUIDE
Draft a useful search title and description
Use the preview to improve your copy before adding it to your site.
Describe the page first
Write a title around the page’s actual subject and the words a visitor would recognise. Put the distinctive information early. Add the brand when it helps identify the source.
Give a reason to visit
Use the description to explain what the visitor can do or learn. Make it specific and accurate. Character guidance helps with editing, but display width and truncation vary.
Publish and review
Copy the title and description into your CMS or HTML. The preview does not fetch or publish a page. Search engines may choose different text depending on the query and page content.

Before you finish
Check the preview at both widths, then verify the published tags with Meta Tag Checker.
